Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is hiring a Remote Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud environments with a strong automation focus. You will build IaC solutions, deploy via CI/CD pipelines, and ensure security and reliability across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

The role is fully remote within South Africa, enabling autonomous engineers to optimize deployment, scaling, and management practices while collaborating with distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role, with a strong focus on automation.
• Hands-on with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Automate cloud provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and optimal resource utilization.
• Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection.
• Collaborate with development teams to support their infrastructure needs and troubleshoot production issues in a remote setting.
