Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Child Welfare Officer to support the Durban community from a fully remote setup. You will manage cases, provide counseling, and connect families with social services while working with virtual teams across the region.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, SACSSP registration, and at least 4 years in child welfare, with strong communication and digital collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Registration with SACSSP as a professional social worker is required.
• Minimum 4 years in child welfare, child protection, or related social services.
• Experience in remote case management and engaging clients virtually.

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote assessments of child welfare concerns via video/phone.
• Develop and monitor individualized service plans for children and families.
• Provide counseling and psycho-social support to children and caregivers.
• Facilitate referrals to services (early childhood programs, counseling, legal aid).
• Maintain accurate confidential case files and reports in the digital system.
• Collaborate with virtual teams, schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
