The role emphasizes remote work flexibility, strong communication, and ability to use technology to manage case records, liaise with law enforcement, schools, and community services while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law or related field.
• Registered with the relevant professional body (e.g., SACSSP).
• Experience in child protection, social work or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of child welfare laws, policies and best practices.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in virtual collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate reports of child abuse, neglect or endangerment.
• Assess the safety and well-being of children and provide immediate protective interventions when necessary.
• Develop and implement child protection plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
• Provide counseling and support to children and families.
• Liaise with law enforcement, schools and other community agencies to coordinate services.
• Maintain accurate, detailed and confidential case records and prepare reports.
