Placements24 is seeking a talented Chemical Engineer for a fully remote role in the specialty chemicals sector. You will design, develop, and scale up novel chemical processes for high-value products, collaborating with R&D, process chemists, and manufacturing teams from anywhere.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of process development experience, with strong skills in reaction engineering, separation processes, and GMP awareness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in process development, scale-up, and optimization in specialty chemicals.
• Strong knowledge of reaction engineering and separation processes.
• Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, ChemCAD).
• Proven ability to manage R&D projects and collaborate remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new chemical processes for synthesis and purification.
• Conduct lab and pilot-scale experiments to validate designs.
• Run process simulations to predict performance and detect issues.
• Scale up processes from lab to commercial production.
• Develop SOPs and batch records for new processes.
• Troubleshoot deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure GMP/safety/environmental/quality compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and QA teams.
• Research new chemical technologies and raw materials.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings.
