Placements24 is seeking a skilled Blockchain Security Analyst to join a prominent DeFi firm. The role is fully remote, based in Paarl, Western Cape, and focuses on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities in smart contracts, blockchain protocols, and dApps.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in cybersecurity with blockchain security, strong Solidity knowledge, and experience with tools like Slither, MythX, and Mythril.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity with blockchain security and smart contract auditing.
• Proficiency with Solidity and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience with blockchain security analysis tools (Slither/MythX/Mythril).
• Understanding of cryptographic principles and blockchain consensus mechanisms.
• Experience with penetration testing methodologies and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent report writing.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with DeFi protocols and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Audit smart contracts written in Solidity and other languages.
• Identify vulnerabilities such as reentrancy, overflows, and logic errors.
• Perform security assessments of decentralized applications (dApps).
• Analyze blockchain transaction data to detect suspicious activity.
• Develop and implement security best practices for smart contracts.
