Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Blockchain Protocol Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, develop, and optimize core blockchain protocols with emphasis on performance, security, and scalability across decentralized systems.

The position requires a PhD or Master’s in CS/cryptography and 7+ years in software engineering with blockchain experience. You will explore cryptographic techniques and consensus mechanisms and contribute to the platform architecture.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in CS, Cryptography, or related field.
• 7+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in blockchain protocol development.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, consensus algorithms, and cryptography.
• Experience with low-level languages (C++, Rust, Go) and network programming.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test core blockchain protocol features and improvements.
• Optimize protocol performance, transaction throughput, and network security.
• Develop and maintain the codebase for our blockchain network, ensuring stability and reliability.
• Collaborate on cryptographic techniques and consensus mechanisms.
• Contribute to architecture and strategic direction of the platform.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex protocol-layer issues.
