Placements24 is seeking a motivated Bioinformatics Specialist to join a globally distributed research team in a fully remote position. You will analyze large biological datasets, develop computational tools, and collaborate with researchers worldwide to advance genomics and molecular biology.

The role requires a Master's or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or related field, strong Python or R skills, Linux familiarity, and experience with BLAST, Ensembl, and UCSC Genome Browser.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in analyzing large-scale biological datasets.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and Linux/Unix CLI.
• Experience with BLAST, Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser.
• Excellent communication for remote collaboration.

Aufgaben

• Analyze high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., WGS, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq) using established bioinformatics tools and pipelines.
• Develop and implement custom scripts and software for data processing, quality control, and visualization.
• Collaborate with bench scientists to interpret results and design follow-up experiments.
• Maintain and update bioinformatics databases and workflows.
• Contribute to the writing of research papers, grant proposals, and technical documentation.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics and computational biology.
