Placements24 is seeking a Remote Aircraft Systems Software Engineer to join a distributed team on a groundbreaking project. You will develop and integrate flight-critical software for next-generation aircraft systems, collaborating with hardware and systems engineers from a remote setup.

The role requires deep knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS, and DO-178C, with C/C++/Ada, avionics protocols, and rigorous lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in embedded software development, with a significant focus on aerospace or avionics systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and integrate flight-critical software components for aircraft systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in languages such as C, C++, or Ada.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, systems engineers, and other software developers in a remote setting.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing.
• Develop and maintain software requirements, design documents, and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues identified during testing or in deployed systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
• Ensure all software development adheres to stringent aerospace safety standards and certifications (e.g., DO-178C).
• Effectively communicate technical information and project status updates to remote team members and management.
