Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Avionics Software Engineer to join a fully remote development team. You will design and implement real-time embedded software for advanced aircraft systems, ensuring safety-critical compliance and robust performance.

The role requires deep expertise in C/C++ (and Ada), RTOS, DO-178C, and avionics protocols (ARINC 429/664). You will collaborate with hardware and systems engineers across distributed teams to deliver safe, reliable aviation software.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field with 7+ years in avionics or embedded software.
• Expertise in C/C++ and RTOS for safety-critical systems.
• Experience with DO-178C and avionics protocols (ARINC 429/664).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and integrate real-time embedded software for avionics.
• Write clean, efficient code in C, C++, or Ada.
• Support all software lifecycle stages from requirements to deployment.
• Perform unit, integration and system testing; verify and validate software.
• Collaborate with hardware/systems engineers to define software architecture.
