Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Aviation Cybersecurity Analyst to bolster digital security for aviation systems. This fully remote role is based in South Africa and requires autonomous work, risk assessment, and robust protective measures.

You will monitor networks, conduct vulnerability testing, implement security policies, and collaborate with IT and engineering teams to safeguard data and comply with aviation regulations. Strong SIEM and cloud security experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network security, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and technologies, including SIEM and cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze network traffic and system logs for security breaches or suspicious activity.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on aviation systems and applications.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Respond to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Manage and maintain security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
• Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training to employees.
• Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities relevant to the aviation sector.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement security controls and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Prepare regular reports on security posture, incidents, and recommendations for management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and aviation security regulations.
