Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Aviation Cybersecurity Analyst to drive global security initiatives in a fully remote role. You will develop and implement robust security strategies, lead a distributed team, and oversee threat analysis and incident response for aviation systems worldwide.

The role requires 8+ years in cybersecurity with leadership experience in aviation or critical infrastructure, CISSP/CISM/GIAC, and strong collaboration with IT and engineering teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years in cybersecurity with at least 3 years in a leadership role in aviation or critical infrastructure.
• Proven expertise in threat intelligence, incident response, vulnerability management and risk assessment.
• Deep knowledge of network security, cryptography and secure software development principles.
• Experience with SIEM and security technologies.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for remote teams.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• CISSP, CISM or GIAC certifications.
• Understanding aviation cybersecurity challenges and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps for aviation systems.
• Lead a remote team of analysts with mentorship and performance management.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, pen tests, and risk analyses.
• Design and manage security controls, IDS, and incident response protocols.
• Monitor security events and respond to incidents promptly.
• Deliver cybersecurity awareness training for employees.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and aviation-specific trends.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering to embed security in new deployments.
• Maintain compliance with ICAO, NIS 2 and related standards.
