Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Performance Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team supporting operations in Vereeniging. The role focuses on optimizing vehicle performance through data analysis, simulation, and development of advanced control strategies for engine, transmission, and chassis dynamics.

You will collaborate virtually with design and testing departments, analyze performance data, and develop simulations and control algorithms.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience in automotive performance engineering, including engine and powertrain optimization.
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and GT-SUITE.
Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, thermodynamics and control systems.
Experience with data acquisition systems and post-processing tools.

Responsibilities

Analyze vehicle performance data using advanced software tools to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and refine engine, transmission, and chassis control algorithms.
Utilize simulation tools to model and predict performance outcomes under various conditions.
Collaborate with hardware engineers and test teams to implement and validate performance enhancements.
Document design specifications, test results, and performance reports.
Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in automotive performance engineering.
