Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Automotive Electrical Engineer to design and develop advanced vehicle electrical systems, wiring harnesses and power management, fully remote within South Africa. You will contribute to safe, high‑performance automotive architectures.

You will collaborate with mechanical and software engineers in a virtual environment, specify components, run simulations, and support prototype testing. A Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of automotive electrical system design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools for schematic capture (ECAD, harnessing).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics and wiring harnesses for automotive applications.
• Specify and select electrical components, including sensors, actuators, ECUs, and power distribution modules.
• Perform electrical system simulations and analysis to ensure performance, reliability, and safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers, in a virtual environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during prototype testing and vehicle integration.
• Contribute to the development of new automotive electrical technologies and standards.
