Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Remote Automotive Design Engineer to join a global product development team. The role focuses on conceptualizing and designing automotive components and systems from anywhere, using CAD tools to develop designs, prototypes, and specifications.

You will influence both aesthetic and functional aspects of vehicles while collaborating with a distributed team of designers and engineers advancing automotive innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of automotive design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX).
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes in auto.
• Experience with product development lifecycles and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Use advanced 3D CAD software to create detailed designs for automotive components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs for feasibility and aesthetics.
• Develop and maintain design documentation, including drawings and BOMs.
• Conduct design reviews and analyses to meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
• Generate design concepts and present rationale to stakeholders.
• Stay updated on the latest automotive design trends and technologies.
• Contribute to prototype creation and testing for design validation.
