Placements24 is seeking an Automotive CAD Designer to join a global engineering team in a fully remote role. You will create precise 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for automotive components, collaborating with design and engineering departments to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.

The ideal candidate has proven CAD experience, strong GD&T skills, and proficiency in CATIA or SolidWorks, with a keen eye for surfacing and complex forms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CAD Designer, preferably with an automotive focus.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CATIA or SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with surfacing techniques and creating complex forms.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Create precise 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings for automotive parts and assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine designs for functionality, manufacturability and aesthetics.
• Perform tolerance analysis and DFA checks on models.
• Ensure designs comply with automotive standards and company specs.
• Maintain CAD data with version control and library organization.
• Prepare design documentation for prototyping, testing and production.
