Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Mechanical Design Specialist to join its engineering team on a fully remote basis. You will design and detail mechanical parts and assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, with precise drawings and models.

Post holder will collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers, maintain BOM and change orders, and uphold high standards for accuracy and efficiency in a remote, flexible environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of dedicated mechanical design and drafting experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor and SolidWorks.
• Strong GD&T knowledge for tolerancing schemes.
• Understanding of machining, injection molding and sheet metal.
• Excellent remote-work discipline and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for complex parts.
• Develop precise technical specs and tolerancing schemes.
• Conduct design reviews to improve manufacturability and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers for optimization.
• Maintain design documentation including BOM and ECNs.
• Support the team with design challenges and problem solving.
