Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Remote Automotive CAD Designer to join our innovative engineering team, working entirely from home. You will create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for automotive components, systems, and assemblies, using CATIA, SolidWorks and AutoCAD to translate concepts into precise, manufacturable designs.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Design, 4+ years of CAD experience in automotive design, and strong remote

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Design, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a CAD Designer with a focus on automotive.
• Proficiency in advanced features of industry-standard CAD software.
• Strong understanding of automotive component design, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
• Excellent visualization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Create complex 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using industry-leading CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Develop designs for automotive components, considering material properties, manufacturing processes, and assembly requirements.
• Perform design modifications and updates based on engineering feedback and project requirements.
• Collaborate remotely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Maintain design documentation and libraries in an organized and accessible manner.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and company specifications.
