Placements24 is seeking a forward-thinking Automation Engineer to join our fully remote team, instrumental in enhancing and modernizing manufacturing processes. You will design, implement, and optimize automated systems and robotic solutions to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality across our facilities, including Soweto and Gauteng areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• Proven experience in automation engineering, including PLC programming and HMI development.
• Strong understanding of robotics, control systems, and industrial networking.
• Excellent troubleshooting and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC/HMI programs for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems and robotic cells.
• Optimize automated processes for improved efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and production staff, on new automation projects.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control system diagrams and programming logic.
• Stay current with advancements in automation technology and recommend solutions for future implementation.
