Placements24 is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Cape Town team. You will design, implement, and maintain automated control systems across manufacturing processes, integrating hardware and software to optimize production lines.

You will lead projects from design to commissioning, troubleshoot robotic systems, and ensure system reliability. The role offers diverse projects, active learning opportunities, and a collaborative environment in the Cape Town industrial sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience designing and implementing industrial automation solutions.
• Experience with PLC brands (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI software; robotics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated control systems using PLC and HMI platforms.
• Implement and troubleshoot robotic systems and automation equipment.
• Analyze performance of automated processes and identify improvements.
• Develop and maintain process control logic and documentation.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Lead automation projects from inception to completion within budget and schedule.
