Placements24 in South Africa is seeking an AI Software Engineer to join a distributed team working on AI/ML models and cloud deployments. The role emphasizes building scalable AI services on AWS, Azure, or GCP, with collaboration across data scientists and product managers.

You'll implement MLOps practices, develop APIs and microservices, and optimize workloads for performance and cost in a fully remote setup with flexible hours. Strong Python and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on AI/ML or cloud computing.
• Proven experience developing and deploying applications on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Understanding of MLOps principles and practices.
• Experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git) and testing.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models and applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Build and maintain scalable and resilient AI infrastructure and services.
• Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize machine learning models into production environments.
• Implement MLOps best practices, including CI/CD, model monitoring, and automated retraining.
• Develop APIs and microservices to expose AI capabilities to other applications.
