Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Accountant based in South Africa to manage financial operations from a home office. You will maintain ledgers, prepare monthly/quarterly reports, and ensure GAAP compliance while supporting external auditors.

The role offers fully remote work with flexible hours within South Africa. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and at least four years of accounting experience with strong Excel skills and proficiency in accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 4 years accounting experience.
• Experience with accounting software and Excel is essential.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and tax laws.
• Support external auditors with documentation and information.
• Implement and maintain internal control systems to protect assets.
