Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a hands-on technical sales and business development professional to actively create opportunities in mining and related markets. You will engage with mines, contractors, consultants, OEMs and end users, identify operational challenges, present technical solutions and manage opportunities from initial contact through quotation, negotiation and order placement.

Regular customer visits and travel across South Africa, Africa and selected international markets are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in technical sales, field sales or business development within mining, industrial or related technical markets.
• Strong knowledge of the South African mining industry.
• Proven success securing new customers, projects and revenue.
• Established relationships within mining, engineering, contracting or industrial markets.
• Ability to engage engineers, maintenance teams, production, procurement and senior management.
• Experience with hazardous-area / flameproof / Ex-certified equipment, electrical products, mining safety, automation or instrumentation will be highly advantageous.

Education:

• A relevant technical or commercial qualification will be advantageous.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in technical sales, field sales or business development within mining, industrial or related technical markets
• Strong knowledge of the South African mining industry
• Proven success securing new customers, projects and revenue
• Established relationships within mining, engineering, contracting, consulting or industrial markets
• Ability to engage engineers, maintenance teams, production, procurement and senior management
• Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation and relationship-management skills
• Experience managing an active sales pipeline and commercial forecasts
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly
• Experience with hazardous-area / flameproof / Ex-certified equipment, electrical products, mining safety, automation or instrumentation will be highly advantageous.
