Placements24 is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to oversee the regional distribution network in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will lead warehousing, inventory control, and transportation, driving efficiency and cost optimization across the supply chain.

The role requires 6–8 years in FMCG operations, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with WMS/ERP systems to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in operations management, with a strong focus on logistics and distribution within FMCG.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale warehouse operations and transportation networks.
• Demonstrated ability to implement operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in warehousing context.
• Must be located in or willing to relocate to Vereeniging, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all day-to-day operations within the regional distribution center, including warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Manage logistics and transportation, optimizing routes and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff, supervisors, and logistics coordinators.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies within the operational environment.
• Implement and maintain inventory control systems to minimize stock discrepancies and optimize stock levels.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
• Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Manage operational budgets and P&L for the region.
