Placements24 is seeking a Regional Distribution Manager to lead and optimize the distribution network headquartered in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role focuses on end-to-end distribution, fleet and warehouse management, and route optimization to deliver cost-effective service across the region.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8+ years in distribution, with strong leadership and data-driven decision-making skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in distribution and logistics management, ideally in FMCG.
• Experience leading large teams within the regional distribution network.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, fleet management, and route optimization.
• Proven financial acumen with budget control and cost-saving initiatives.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional distribution strategies to improve efficiency and service quality from the Tembisa hub.
• Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, and order fulfillment with accurate stock levels.
• Manage fleet operations, maintenance, driver scheduling, and route planning to minimize transit times.
• Set KPIs for distribution and warehouse activities, monitor performance, and drive improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards across sites.
• Lead and develop distribution supervisors, warehouse staff, and drivers.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and customer service to meet objectives.
• Manage regional distribution budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Leverage data analytics and technology to optimize routes and warehouse efficiency.
• Respond to operational challenges and customer feedback with corrective actions.
