Placements24 seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee a high-volume FMCG distribution centre in Midrand, Gauteng. You will manage receiving, storage, order fulfilment, and dispatch, driving efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in warehouse and distribution centre management in FMCG.
• Proven track record of managing high-volume operations and efficiency improvements.
• Strong leadership, team management and motivational skills.
• Excellent understanding of inventory management systems, WMS and ERP systems.
• Proficiency in health and safety regulations within a warehouse.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in Midrand, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing and shipping.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage and motivate a large warehouse team, ensuring safety and operational standards.
• Maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
• Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to improve space utilization.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales and logistics for seamless supply chain operations.
• Implement and manage KPIs to track performance and identify improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and leverage best practices in warehouse management.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers if applicable.
