Placements24 seeks a Regional Distribution Manager to lead distribution operations across Randburg and Gauteng. This senior role drives efficiency, cost savings, and service excellence by guiding multiple distribution centers and a team of managers and supervisors.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in a logistics-related field and 8+ years in logistics/distribution, including 4+ years in senior roles. Hybrid work supports strategic planning and on-site leadership.

Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive logistics and distribution management experience, with at least 4 years in a senior management role overseeing multiple sites.
Proven success in managing large-scale distribution operations and achieving operational improvements.
Expertise in supply chain optimization, inventory management, and transportation logistics.
Proven leadership with ability to inspire, motivate, and manage diverse teams.
Strong financial acumen with budgeting and cost control experience.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in advanced analytics, WMS, and ERP systems.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Must be based in or relocate to Randburg, Gauteng, with hybrid work flexibility.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic plans for regional distribution operations to improve efficiency, costs, and service.
Oversee multiple distribution centers ensuring optimal performance and adherence to standards.
Lead and develop distribution center managers and supervisors into a high-performance team.
Manage budgets and identify opportunities for cost reductions within the region.
Ensure robust inventory management and control systems are in place.
Drive continuous improvement to warehouse productivity, accuracy, and safety.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across facilities.
Develop relationships with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
Monitor regional performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Oversee capital expenditure planning and execution for regional facilities.
