Job summary

The World Health Organization in Pretoria seeks a Budget and Finance Officer (P5) to lead financial planning, reporting and IPSAS compliance across the region. You will manage a diverse team and oversee budget centers, awards, and expenditure monitoring in a complex international setting.

Responsibilities include strategic financial leadership, DoA guidance, and coordination of regional resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in accounting/finance or related field; CPA/CA certification.
• 10+ years in international accounting and financial operations.
• IPSAS experience and ERP implementation exposure.
• Experience in UN system or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in budget and finance across the region and country offices.
• Oversee programme budget, awards management, income & expenditure analysis.
• Ensure IPSAS compliance and adherence to financial policies.
• Guide DoA implementation and strengthen financial controls.
• Coordinate regional planning, budgeting and donor reporting.
• Lead capacity building and mentoring of budget staff.
