Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking an experienced Area Manager for the Pretoria region to lead a group of apparel stores. You will drive sales culture, coach Store Managers and Sales Team Leaders, and execute strategic initiatives to meet targets.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on monitoring of store operations, stock, merchandising, and HR processes. You will travel between stores and report to senior management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' managerial experience within the apparel retail sector – essential.
• Proven experience managing multiple retail stores or a geographical area.
• Strong sales-driven mindset with a proven track record of achieving targets.
• Strong people management, coaching and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and administrative capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive a strong sales culture across the area.
• Ensure Store Managers and Sales Team Leaders are equipped to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Develop and implement strategies with senior management to improve performance.
• Monitor sales trends, opportunities and performance patterns.
• Ensure effective execution of promotions, markdowns and merchandising initiatives.
• Monitor competitor activity and industry developments to identify opportunities.
• Lead, motivate and develop Store Managers and Sales Team Leaders.
• Provide coaching and guidance on sales, operations and people management.
• Ensure HR processes are effectively managed, including recruitment, interviewing, training and development.
• Assist with training and development of future retail leaders.
