About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Refrigeration Technician to join their team in Benoni , supporting both field and workshop-based operations. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, and HVAC units. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, a deep understanding of refrigeration principles, and the ability to work efficiently in various environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the operational integrity of refrigeration equipment for a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using appropriate testing equipment and tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to cooling, temperature control, and system leaks.
• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate service reports, inventory records, and documentation for all work performed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician or in a similar HVAC/R role.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Proficiency in using refrigeration gauges, vacuum pumps, recovery machines, and multimeters.
• Familiarity with various types of commercial refrigeration equipment and their components.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and respond to service calls.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Relevant certifications in refrigeration and air conditioning are highly desirable.
