Placements24 is seeking a skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to service and maintain refrigeration systems for businesses in and around Port Elizabeth. You will install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair display cases, walk-in coolers, and other commercial equipment, ensuring reliable operation for retail, hospitality, and industrial clients.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with refrigeration cycles, electrical controls and possesses a refrigeration‑equipment certification.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician or similar field.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with refrigeration diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Certification in handling refrigerants and understanding environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Install new commercial refrigeration units and systems per manufacturer specs and client requirements.
• Perform scheduled maintenance including cleaning coils and testing components.
• Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration systems (compressors, evaporators, condensers, panels).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations regarding refrigerants.

About the Role

This vital role ensures the continuous operation of critical cooling systems for retail, hospitality, and industrial clients. You will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of commercial refrigeration equipment, from display cases to walk-in coolers. Key Responsibilities
