Placements24 is seeking an experienced Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician to service commercial and industrial systems in Upington and surrounding Northern Cape areas.

You will install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R equipment, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and ensure safe refrigerant handling in compliance with regulations. The role offers ongoing training, a company vehicle, and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles and electrical components.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., F-Gas, EPA) desirable.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration units and air conditioning systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, identifying root causes of system failures.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
• Handle refrigerants safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Provide excellent customer service, explaining diagnoses and repair recommendations clearly.
