Placements24 is seeking an experienced Refrigerated Truck Driver for long-haul routes based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will operate a Class 1 heavy-duty vehicle equipped for refrigerated transport, ensuring temperature control and on-time deliveries across South Africa.

The role requires independence, reliability, and strict safety adherence. You will conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections, maintain detailed logs, and communicate with dispatch regarding progress and challenges.

Qualifications

• Proven long-haul trucking experience with refrigerated vehicles.
• Knowledge of operating and monitoring refrigeration units and temperature control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 heavy-duty refrigerated trucks on long-haul routes.

• Load/unload refrigerated cargo safely and manage pallet handling.

• Securely load and unload refrigerated goods, ensuring proper handling and pallet management.

• Plan and execute routes efficiently, considering delivery schedules, road conditions, and rest requirements.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the truck cabin and cargo area.
• Provide exceptional service by ensuring timely and safe delivery of perishable goods.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a long-haul truck driver, specifically with refrigerated vehicles.
• Knowledge of operating and monitoring refrigeration units and temperature control systems.
• Familiarity with the road networks and logistics of the Western Cape, including routes originating from Mossel Bay.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently for extended periods and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
