Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a community-focused organization, is seeking an energetic and experienced Recreation Centre Manager to oversee the operations of their facility in Soweto, Gauteng . This role is central to ensuring the smooth running of the centre, offering a diverse range of leisure and sports activities to the local community. The Manager will be responsible for staff management, program development, budget oversight, facility maintenance, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the recreation centre, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
• Develop, implement, and promote a variety of recreational programs and activities suitable for all age groups.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate centre staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Manage the centre's budget, including revenue generation, expenditure control, and financial reporting.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Recreation Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within the leisure, sports, or community facility sector.
• Proven experience in staff management, program development, and budget administration.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to recreational facilities.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including scheduling and financial management software.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• A passion for community development and promoting active lifestyles.
