Job summary

Kerry Kopp Consulting is seeking an experienced Raw Materials Stores Manager in Durban to oversee on-site and off-site stores. You will manage batch and FIFO processes for HDPE and materials, lead GRV activities, and drive stock accuracy and efficiency across the department.

You will coordinate stock takes, ensure timely material distribution to production, inspect incoming materials, and supervise off-site equipment and waste management in alignment with ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Overall management of Raw Materials Stores (on-site and off-site).
• Batch and FIFO maintenance of HDPE and all materials.
• Management of GRV process
• Identifying control risks and implementing measures to mitigate or eliminate them (e.g., stock counts, stock movements, processes, etc.).
• Management of raw material shuttle truck.
• Conducting weekly/monthly and yearly stock takes, including unplanned spot checks on stock.
• Responsible for stock variances in raw materials and packaging
• Incoming inspection checks for raw materials and packaging, ensuring specifications are met.
• Administration of raw materials stock – transactions through SAP.
• Ensuring that the raw materials are distributed on time and correctly to production departments.
• Ensuring stock is handled correctly.
• Maintenance & management of offsite equipment, ensuring due care is taken of assets – divider cleaner/floor cleaner and operating equipment
• Ensuring internal & external customer satisfaction
• Accountable for waste management
• Ensuring correct documentation about invoices, receipts, and all other relevant documentation as per the ISO Standards (ISO 9001 & FSSC 22000)
• Departmental budgeting & forecasting,
• Driving departmental projects to close and ensure efficiency gains are realized.
• Managing department budget
• People management: continuous training & development of people, managing individual & team performance, compliance with HR & IR policies & procedures, adherence to training plans
• Ensure a safe work environment with excellent housekeeping standards maintained
