Job summary

Vodacom Bloemfontein is seeking a network analyst to plan and optimise the mobile network, ensuring peak performance across GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G. You will conduct site planning, monitor network statistics with Netstats and Actix, perform traces, and drive capacity dimensioning and fault rectification.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma or degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (SAQA equivalent) and GSM/UTRAN experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical (light current) or Electronic Engineering or SAQA equivalent.
• Telecommunications GSM & UTRAN courses essential.
• Minimum 3 years GSM experience (incl. 2 years UMTS).

Responsibilities

• Conduct all site planning and optimisation.
• Ensure optimal network quality by monitoring statistics and implementing corrective action.
• Pro-actively analyse and recommend capacity dimensioning on all network elements.
• Pro-actively analyse and verify network problems by performing traces.
• Investigate and rectify network failures from drive testing routes.
• Conduct cluster optimisation of existing network.
