Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Telecoms RF Engineer in Upington to design, implement and optimize RF networks for robust wireless coverage and capacity in mobile services. You will conduct RF site surveys, analyze performance data, plan antenna placements, and collaborate with operations and engineering teams to implement upgrades and new technologies including LTE and 5G.

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering and 3–5 years' RF field experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of RF engineering experience in mobile networks (LTE/5G).
  • Proficiency with RF planning and test equipment; able to analyze RF data.

Responsibilities

  • Design and plan cellular network deployments, including antenna placement, coverage modeling, and capacity planning.
  • Conduct RF site surveys, measurements, and drive tests to evaluate network performance.
  • Analyze RF data to identify coverage gaps, interference issues, and optimization opportunities.
  • Configure and troubleshoot RF network elements and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with network operations and engineering teams to implement network upgrades and new technologies.
  • Stay current with emerging RF technologies and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
