Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Youth Development Officer to implement and manage youth-focused programs in Queenstown. The role combines on-site youth engagement with administrative tasks from an office base in the Eastern Cape region, offering a hybrid work arrangement.

You will design and deliver life skills and career development programs, mentor young people, and collaborate with schools and community partners to create meaningful impact for youth in the Eastern Cape, particularly Queenstown.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth work, social work, education, or a related field.
• Proven ability to engage and work effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, balancing field-based youth engagement with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage youth development programs and activities.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to young people.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on life skills, career development, and other relevant topics.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, community centers, and youth organizations.
• Monitor program progress, collect data, and report on outcomes and impact.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all youth participants.
