Job summary

AECI Animal Health in Burgersdorp is seeking a conscientious, safety-minded Quality Controller to join our Production team. The successful candidate will conduct quality inspections, identify non-conforming materials and products, ensure compliance with quality standards and support the maintenance of the site's Quality Management System.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Minimum of one year's relevant experience in a similar Quality Controller position.
• Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Office.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• A sound understanding of quality control procedures and Quality Management Systems.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• A valid forklift driver's licence and medical fitness to operate a forklift, as required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections on raw materials, packaging materials, pallets and finished products.
• Inspect packaging bags for cleanliness, dryness, correct stitching and labelling, and general condition before use in production.
• Verify pallet condition, correct pallet usage, strapping, slip sheets, load limits and safe loading requirements.
• Identify defects, isolate potentially non-conforming products and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with established quality standards, procedures and specifications.
• Conduct routine checks and report quality deviations, damaged materials, leakages and safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate quality control records, documentation and reports.
• Support stocktake activities and other quality-related duties as required.
• Promote and adhere to all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

ADVANTAGEOUS

A qualification in Quality Control.

Experience in an industrial production environment or the Animal Feed industry.

Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, non-conformance procedures and SHEQ Management Systems.

Knowledge of agrochemical production and products related to the agricultural chemical industry.
