Placements24 seeks an experienced Quality Control Manager for its Durban operations in the food and beverage sector. You will lead QA/QC programs, ensure product safety, and maintain compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000 and GMP guidelines.

Responsibilities include managing a QC team, conducting internal audits, collaborating with production and procurement, and maintaining accurate quality records. A hands-on leader with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in quality control/assurance in the food & beverage industry.
• Proven experience leading a QC team and implementing quality management systems.
• In-depth knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000 and GMP.
• Strong analytical laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the company's quality control and quality assurance programs.
• Oversee quality control testingof raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP).
• Manage and train the quality control team, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
• Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate quality control records and documentation.
• Collaborate with production and procurement to address quality issues and improve processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting food quality and safety.
• Manage laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and maintenance.
