Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Quality Assurance Manager for its client in George, Western Cape. The role drives the QA strategy, compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP, and leads a dedicated QA team across production.

You will implement robust QA systems, conduct internal audits, mentor staff, and address customer quality issues with root-cause analysis. A strong background in food safety and regulatory requirements is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field.
• At least 7 years in Quality Assurance, with 3+ in a management role.
• Extensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO standards, and audit procedures.
• Proven experience leading and developing QA teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Proficiency in QA software and office productivity tools.
• Ability to implement and manage change.
• Experience with food production processes is a strong asset.
• Commitment to highest standards of food safety and quality.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive QA programs and procedures for food production.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP and other relevant standards.
• Conduct internal audits and inspections to assess adherence to QA protocols.
• Manage and mentor the QA team, providing training and guidance.
• Investigate customer complaints and product quality issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee product testing and analysis with laboratory personnel to verify specifications.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and supply chain to integrate QA throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain QA documentation, SOPs, records, and audit reports.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in QA.
