Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leading name in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, is actively searching for a highly qualified and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join their operations in Paarl, Western Cape . This is a critical on-site position responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality assurance systems across all production and operational processes. The QA Manager will ensure that all products meet stringent internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role requires a meticulous approach, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of quality management principles within the demanding FMCG environment. You will lead a team of QA professionals, conduct audits, manage non-conformance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold the highest product integrity. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Quality Management Systems (QMS) according to industry standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP).
• Oversee all quality control activities, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and finished product testing.
• Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluation.
• Conduct regular internal audits and facilitate external audits by regulatory bodies and customers.
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance reports, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, health, and environmental standards.
• Develop and implement quality assurance training programs for all relevant personnel.
• Monitor key quality metrics and generate reports for senior management, highlighting areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.
• Stay current with evolving quality standards, regulations, and best practices in the FMCG sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the FMCG industry.
• Proven experience in managing QMS, conducting audits, and implementing CAPA.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in using quality management software and standard office applications.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Paarl area, Western Cape.
• Experience with specific FMCG product categories is advantageous.
