Placements24 seeks a Quality Assurance Manager for its Welkom FMCG facility in the Free State. The role leads the QA team, builds and maintains QMS, and ensures products meet safety, quality and regulatory standards before reaching consumers.

You will drive CAPA, internal and supplier audits, and continuous improvement across production and operations, safeguarding brand reputation and consumer trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in QA/QC in FMCG.
• Knowledge of HACCP, ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Experience in Welkom manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a reputable name in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is actively seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to manage quality standards from their Welkom facility. This role is paramount in ensuring that all products meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory requirements before reaching consumers. You will lead the QA team, implement robust quality management systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all production and operational processes in the Free State. Your expertise will safeguard brand reputation and consumer trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) for all FMCG products .
• Oversee all quality control activities, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final product testing.
• Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, fostering a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement.
• Conduct internal audits and manage external audits from regulatory bodies and customers.
• Investigate quality complaints and non-conformance issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international quality standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control, with substantial experience in the FMCG industry .
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, HACCP, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment in Welkom , ensuring product integrity.
