Job summary

Codehesion is seeking a Software Tester to join the QA team in Centurion, SA, to ensure quality across products. You will review stories, write and execute test plans, and collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to deliver reliable software solutions.

You will identify defects, document results, and contribute to automated testing efforts while maintaining clear reporting on progress and risks. A strong foundation in testing practices and JIRA usage is expected.

Qualifications

• IT qualifications are advantageous (e.g., BCom IT, Informatics, BSc IT, or related diplomas).
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to write accurate and concise replication steps.
• Commitment to sound work ethics and professional conduct.
• Ability to communicate defects to developers diplomatically.
• Experience with test and defect management tools (JIRA).
• Proven experience writing pragmatic test strategies and test plans.
• Attention to detail with strong problem-solving and forward-thinking.
• Excellent communication at all levels and proactive teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyse user stories, requirements, and specs to develop test plans and test cases.
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to understand project requirements and execute tests (functional, integration, regression, and performance).
• Identify, document, report defects with clear reports for efficient resolution.
• Create comprehensive test plans and test cases and maintain testing documentation.
• Collaborate with QA and cross-functional teams to understand goals and provide updates on testing progress.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and testing methodologies.
• Participate in regression testing to ensure new features do not impact existing functionality.
• Assist QA with maintaining automated test scripts.
• Provide regular status reports on testing progress, results, and risks.
