Western Cape Government’s Department of the Premier invites applications for a State Law Advisor: Legal Governance in Cape Town. The role provides governance counsel, research and advisory services on constitutional matters, PAIA, PAJA and POPIA, and reviews executive delegations.

Requirements include an LLB with admission as Advocate/Attorney, a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification legal experience (9 years for higher level) and a valid Code B driving license; this permanent post is located

Qualifications

• LLB degree with admission as an Advocate or Attorney.
• Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification legal experience; 9 years for LP 8 level.
• A valid driving license (Code B or higher).
• Disability access considerations may apply.

Responsabilités

• Render legal training to departments, public entities and municipalities.
• Render legal research and advisory services on governance matters.
• Render legal governance assessments and reporting for departments and entities.
• Provide transversal legal governance on PAIA, PAJA, POPIA and related legislation.
• Review and maintain delegations for executive members and departments.
