Placements24 is assisting a prominent real estate development firm in Benoni to hire a Legal Officer specializing in Property Law. The role focuses on managing legal aspects of property acquisition, development, leasing, and disposition, ensuring transactions comply with SA law.

The candidate will draft and review sale and lease agreements, conduct due diligence, advise on planning and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with conveyancers and authorities to close deals efficiently.

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent qualification.
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate with practicing certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in property law, conveyancing, or real estate law.
• Proven drafting and negotiating of property-related agreements.
• Thorough understanding of SA property legislation and conveyancing procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of land registration processes and title deeds.

Responsibilities

• Review and draft property-related legal documents (sale/lease agreements, sectional title documents, servitude agreements).
• Conduct due diligence on properties (title searches, zoning verification, encumbrances).
• Advise on property development matters (planning, zoning, regulatory compliance).
• Manage property transactions from offer to closing with all legal requirements.
• Liaise with conveyancers, estate agents, developers, and authorities.
