Job summary

Tafadzwa in Johannesburg is seeking a Project Bookkeeper responsible for recording and maintaining financial transactions and implementing accounting systems, policies, and processes. The role reports firstly to the Finance Manager and then to the Project Management Office Head.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a tertiary accounting qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
• Pastel Accounting or similar software experience.
• Advanced VAT knowledge and its application.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• GAAP knowledge and ledger reconciliations.
• Driver's license strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable: purchase orders, supplier reconciliations, and payments.
• Handle accounts receivable: invoicing and collections for projects.
• Prepare and review petty cash reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly VAT reports for the company and affiliates.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset register and monthly depreciation.
• Ensure compliance with finance policies and internal controls.
• Assist with year-end audits and related reviews.
