Placements24 is seeking an organized and proactive Project Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion at our Port Elizabeth facility. The role blends technical expertise with strong project management and stakeholder communication to deliver on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2 years in project management.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an organized and proactive Project Mechanical Engineer to manage and execute mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion in their Port Elizabeth facility. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong communication abilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, managing resources, and liaising with stakeholders, operating within a hybrid work model that balances office-based collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of mechanical engineering projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these objectives.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external suppliers, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals.
• Manage project resources, including personnel and equipment, to optimize efficiency and productivity.
• Conduct technical reviews and ensure designs and deliverables meet engineering specifications and client requirements.

Requirements
