About the Role

Our client is seeking a versatile Mechanical Engineer with a strong aptitude for project management to join their team in Richards Bay . This role focuses on overseeing the lifecycle of mechanical projects, from initial design and planning through to execution and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a solid engineering background and demonstrable leadership skills, coupled with experience in managing complex industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects simultaneously, defining scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these milestones.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure efficient project execution.
• Conduct technical reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential issues.
• Prepare regular project status reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering .
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years in a project coordination or management role.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes.
