About the Role

Our client, a pioneer in the renewable energy sector, is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the development and implementation of innovative solar and wind energy projects.

This role, based in the picturesque region of Stellenbosch, Western Cape, is crucial for advancing sustainable energy solutions.

You will manage the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and site assessments to construction, commissioning, and handover.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in renewable energy engineering, combined with exceptional project management skills and a passion for sustainability.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and meet all regulatory and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and closing of renewable energy projects (solar, wind).
• Conduct feasibility studies, site selection, and environmental impact assessments.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
• Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and management of vendors and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and energy regulations.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including government bodies, investors, and local communities.
• Ensure project performance meets technical and financial objectives.
• Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering solar or wind energy projects.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, grid integration, and relevant policy frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and relevant technical modeling tools.
• Experience managing budgets and financial aspects of large-scale projects.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing site visits with office-based work.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
