Job summary

CA Mining is seeking a Project Manager to own a portfolio of grinding mills equipment projects, leading a team of engineers and administrators. You will oversee cost, schedule, scope and quality while coordinating with design, quality, logistics and finance to deliver on-site installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgical.
• Minimum 10 years in the mining or minerals industry with multi-disciplinary engineering and project experience.
• Experience delivering equipment packages from order through manufacture to site commissioning.
• Exposure to comminution equipment, grinding mills, crushers, mill gearing, liners or related fixed plants is strongly preferred.
• Willing to travel to sites within South Africa.

• Full accountability for project cost, schedule, scope and quality across an assigned portfolio.
• Management of freight, logistics and site works, including installation and commissioning.
• Leadership and development of an assigned team of Project Engineers and Administrators.
• Interface across design, drawing office, quality, logistics and finance.
• Client relationship management, contractual deliverables, variation orders and claims.
• Supplier and fabricator adjudication, expediting and quality oversight.
• Project reporting, risk management and closeout.

Project Manager – Grinding Mills (Comminution Equipment OEM)

About the role

Our client is an established OEM in the grinding mill space, supplying new mills, OEM spares and mill site services into the African mining industry. Their scope runs from mill sizing and manufacture through factory acceptance testing, logistics, installation and commissioning, as well as mill refurbishment and relocation.

They are looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of projects while leading a team of Project Engineers and Administrators.

This is an equipment supply role, not an EPCM or owner's team position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

your experience is primarily in project planning and controls, feasibility and study work, plant operations or maintenance, or discipline design.
